I thought about you last night
when my thoughts became wild.
Those moments before slumber
before the REM is whiled.

I couldn't help but wonder,
were those glances meant for me?
It seemed as if your blue eyes saw
but maybe you didn't look to my seat.

I sat there in awe, I guess,
just hoping you remembered me.
I think it's funny how you did,
because we've only met times three.

Not that anyone's counting,
but maybe I could be.
You hugged me for the first time,
and the first look was made blithely.

I didn't get your digits,
the one's I want in my contacts.
It was a dumb thing to do,
but it's your eyes that distract.

Did I forget to mention I love you?
because that's what I was there for.
I supposed you'd figure it out,
because I've sung it once before.

Just invite me to come with you,
on those grand adventures you once had.
