It's A Sad Day In Baltimore When There's A Slow Death In Carolina

If you take a part of your wearisome road,
You could place it at my feet
And I'll slowly become a part of you,
Just before it's too late.

Our paths would merge and fork,
It would transform into a beautiful mirage
If only you would walk the streets at night,
Under the light from an eclipsed red moon.

Our hearts have been broken,
When the lights have faded
Take a look inside,
We've become outspoken and unadored.

It's left to a footnote of my love for you,
A meager wrinkle in the span of a lifetime
The time has come to part in seperate ways, love,
Yet, it won't last long enough.

I've watched my heart cry piece by piece
As the minutes on the clock tick by
Light my tears on fire to hide the loss
Little by little, it all becomes whole again.
